Laura Darkstar is a Business Operations Manager, Aspiring Novelist and Tech Geek and is the mother of a 25-year old daughter. When she’s not busy being Adminderella, she loves to work on her novel, read true crime books and geek out with new software.

When you hear that a mother does not have custody of her child, what’s the first thing that pops to mind? It appears that for many people their thoughts go to blaming, shaming and rejection of the mom.

This was what happened to my guest, Laura Darkstar. Although it made perfect sense for her 12-year-old daughter to continue living with the father she adored, when Laura agreed, she was unprepared for the judgment, double standards and contempt that would come her way.

She came on the show to share some of her experience and to encourage us all to get the whole story before writing people off. She also would like to be a beacon of light for other non-custodial moms.
